From 2 to 5 January, CityUHK hosted the "Innovation@Community Carnival" at D2 Place ONE in Lai Chi Kok. The event featured a series of exciting activities, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience the innovative spirit and achievements of the start-ups under the University’s flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme, HK Tech 300, as well as those of the University’s partners and CityUHK alumni, and to learn how these achievements contributed to the local community and addressed global challenges.

CLP Power and CityUHK co-organised an international conference titled “Powering a Carbon Neutral Future - The Role of Nuclear Energy” on 17 January, exploring the pivotal role of nuclear energy in the decarbonisation journeys of Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the world. The conference brought together international experts and academics to discuss climate change and sustainability, highlighting Hong Kong's role as a “super-connector” and “super value-adder” between Mainland China and the rest of the world.
CityUHK secured HK$26.4 million from the RGC for five research projects under the Research Impact Fund, ranking first among UGC-funded universities in both project count and funding. These initiatives focus on sustainable development, energy, and biomedical engineering, underscoring the university's commitment to innovative research and societal advancement.
A delegation from Goertek visited CityUHK on 19 December. The two sides discussed establishing a strategic partnership, with plans to carry out comprehensive industry-academia collaboration in different locations, such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Qingdao.
