Boundless Global Legal Education

2 October 2008, Hong Kong –– The School of Law at the City University of Hong Kong pilots a series of video-link lectures with the Yale Law School. Students have the opportunity to learn from distinguished professors from all over the world.  This initiative has again testified its superb quality for providing a boundless world-class legal education.

As part of the School’s commitments to internationalisation, the CityU School of Law has entered into agreements with prestigious law schools, including Yale Law School in the United States and University College, Oxford in United Kingdom. Starting from the 2008/2009 academic year, Professor Michael Reisman from Yale Law School and Professor Adrian Zuckerman from University of Oxford will teach CityU School of Law students the course of International Investment Law and Civil Procedure respectively via the video-link lectures.

As the first of its kind in Hong Kong, the real-time virtual lecture enables students to learn from world-class professors and sit-in the classes of Yale, Oxford and other top law schools without having to leave the local campus. Students will be able to experience the world-class academic culture and teaching styles of top universities. It is an innovative blending of high technology and eminent scholars that transplants the international education culture into the local community.

Founded in early 19th Century, the Yale Law School is a full-fledged law school renowned as a center of constitutional law, taxation, commercial law, international law, antitrust, and law and economics. In recent decades, the School has developed new strengths in comparative constitutional law, corporate finance, environmental law, gender studies, international human rights, and legal history, as well as an array of clinical programs taught by a clinical faculty of exceptional breadth and devotion.
