City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) is actively developing a digitalised campus, fostering an international and innovative learning environment with a forward-looking vision. This development also aims to connect the University with the community. The “Tunnel of Future Innovations”, connecting CityUHK and Festival Walk, will officially open on 21 May 2025, marked by Hong Kong’s first-ever tunnel fashion show.

This ground-breaking event echoes HKSAR Government’s “tourism is everywhere” concept and supports the development of educational tours, aiming to reinforce Hong Kong’s role as a global tourism hub and to diversify the city’s travel experiences. During the opening ceremony, CityUHK will also unveil several new campus development plans, demonstrating strong support for the growth of educational tours.

The launch ceremony will be presided over by Professor Freddy Boey, President of CityUHK, and Mr Justin Wong Tak-ho, Chairman of the Community Relations Committee of the Council of CityUHK. Renowned fashion designer, and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Media and Communication, Professor Dorian Ho Kwok-ching, a group of emerging local fashion designers in presenting a fashion show inspired by the unique cultural identity of Sham Shui Po, highlighting the close ties between CityUHK and the district.

Distinguished guests attending the event include Miss Agnes Chan Lok-tung, Assistant District Officer (Sham Shui Po); Mr Patrick Yeung Wai-tim, CEO of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; CityUHK alumna and 2024 Miss Hong Kong winner, Miss Ellyn Ngai Lok-lam; as well as representatives from the Hong Kong Fashion Council, the Clothing Industry Training Authority, the Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association, the Textile Council of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Tourism Board. All will gather to support and enjoy this vibrant celebration of creativity, culture, and community spirit.
