The Amenities Building has been named the “Bank of China (Hong Kong) Complex” in appreciation of the generous support that BOCHK Charitable Foundation has offered City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

??????The recent HK$100-million donation from the BOCHK Charitable Foundation will be used to support the development of CityU’s veterinary medicine projects, support an endowed Chair Professorship and fund overseas exchanges and internships for students.

“BOCHK takes great pleasure in joining hands with CityU in contributing to the advancement of veterinary medical research and education, and to the promotion of public health and food safety in Hong Kong and the region,” said Mr Yue Yi, Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong).

The Foundation has been an active supporter of CityU, having donated a number of scholarships and bursaries to the University over the years.

Professor Way Kuo, University President, expressed his sincere gratitude to BOCHK.

“The donation will have a transformational impact on promoting public health, the study of zoonotic diseases and food safety in Hong Kong for achieving ‘One Health’ for people, animals and the environment. This staunch support will enable our students to enrich their learning and develop international perspectives,” he said.

The multi-storey Bank of China (Hong Kong) Complex houses academic departments and administrative offices, and facilities including the library, a lecture theatre, student common rooms and catering outlets.
