Naming ceremony of Ti Lun Classroom

Classroom B5-207 in the Yeung Kin Man Academic Building of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) has been named the “Ti Lun Classroom” in appreciation of the support of Venerable Ti Lun to the University.
A naming ceremony, held on 17 July, was attended by Venerable Ti Lun; Professor Alex Jen Kwan-yue, Acting CityU President; Professor Matthew Lee Kwok-on, Vice-President (Development and External Relations), and Ms Kathy Chan Yin-ling, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations).
In his welcome speech, Professor Jen expressed gratitude for Venerable Ti Lun’s unfailing support and donations to CityU.

To mark this memorable occasion, the motto “self-discipline and social commitment”, written by Venerable Ti Lun, has been inscribed in the classroom, in order to encourage students to develop their talent and to become virtuous persons, who contribute to society.
Dedicating himself to Buddhist missionary works, Venerable Ti Lun puts into practice the Buddhist tenets of showing compassion and mercy towards all members of society. He is the founder of Hong Kong Hua-yan Buddhist Association Limited, which is involved in a wide range of charity works, including relief services during natural disasters, sponsorships for orphans, and education services.
