CityU confers Honorary Fellowships on two distinguished persons

?Two distinguished persons were conferred the title of Honorary Fellow of City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in recognition of their distinctive contributions to the development of, and service to, the University.
The distinguished persons are:
● Mr Chan Ka-kui, Chairman of Mustard Seed Foundation
● Mrs Rebecca Lai Ko Wing-yee, Director of Education Initiatives of the China Graduate School of Theology
Dr Norman Leung Nai-pang, Pro-Chancellor, Mr Vincent Chow Wing-shing, Deputy Council Chairman, and Professor Way Kuo, University President, officiated at the ceremony, which was held on 30 September.

In his welcoming address, Mr Chow thanked the Honorary Fellows on behalf of the University for their unstinting support and wise counsel to CityU over the years. “Our new Honorary Fellows deserve our gratitude for always making time in their busy schedules, offering their wisdom and valuable experience in contributing to and facilitating the University’s development,” Mr Chow said. “With the support of these distinguished individuals, the University has made great progress. We are going from strength to strength in terms of our professional education and research output. We broke into the top ten of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings for universities in Asia this year, and ranked 57th in the world.”
Mr Chan addressed the assembly on behalf of the Honorary Fellows. “CityU’s achievements over the last 30 years are clearly reflected in our rapid rise in international university rankings. Such success has put greater responsibility on us to educate our students to become responsible members of society. With the leadership of the Council, and the hard work of the faculty, staff, alumni and students, we are confident that CityU will continue to prosper,” he said.
