CityU and UQ present report on Shenzhen incubation services

?Fifteen master’s degree students from the Department of Information Systems at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and fifteen master’s degree students from the Business School of the University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia completed a one-week study and research project for the Nanshan Yungu Innovative Industry Zone (Yungu) at the end of June. Yungu is the fifteenth incubator of the Shenzhen Nanshan Hi-tech Incubator.

This third collaboration between CityU, UQ and Nanshan Hi-tech Incubator is part of a continuous exchange between Hong Kong and Shenzhen for advancing scientific technology and industry.

Nanshan Hi-tech Incubator was the key target of this study and research project, in which students evaluated the Zone’s business incubation ecology, financing strategy and planning for an electronic commerce platform.

On 28 June the teams presented their reports, including the project’s objectives, methodology, main results and recommendations, and answered questions from the audience. Faculty from the two universities and officials from Nanshan Hi-tech Incubator and Yungu said they were satisfied with the primary results.

Officials from Nanshan Hi-tech Incubator and Yungu also said the projects would inspire the future development of Yungu.

The multifaceted research content provided reference for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Yungu and Shenzhen. Some of the recommendations will further assist the government in enhancing and promoting the services offered by the incubators as well as the development of innovative enterprises.
