Building a more sustainable future for our children and creating a more eco-friendly campus are two of our most cherished aims at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). That’s why the University has included an electric sedan in our fleet of vehicles, a 5-seater Nissan Leaf that produces zero roadside carbon emissions.

Incorporating the car into the day-to-day running of the University aligns with our comprehensive package of green initiatives. In the past few years, CityU has launched aggressive campus-wide campaigns to reduce food waste, cut electricity consumption and carbon emissions, implement energy-saving lighting, install energy-efficient heating technology in the student residences and recycle grey water as well as participate in territory-wide movements such as WWF Earth Hour 2010 and “Hong Kong No Air-con Night”.

In addition, students at CityU can choose from a range of world-class programmes and Gateway Education courses that focus on sustainability from inter-disciplinary perspectives ranging from policy and governance to enhanced technologies for capturing solar power.
