CityU has risen to 110th in QS world rankings

Figures reveal that CityU has risen from 129th position in 2010 to 110th this year in the QS World University Rankings of the world’s top 500 universities.
“This is the culmination of a lot of intelligent work and the dedicated efforts of our colleagues and students, as well as the Council. I want to congratulate everyone in the CityU community and thank them for their hard work and commitment,” said Professor Way Kuo, University President.
Since 2006, CityU has jumped 44 places in QS/Times Higher Education Supplement surveys despite increased competition and elevated standards in many parts of the world.
World rankings are only an indicator of performance but quite clearly a pattern is emerging, one that shows CityU is making tremendous progress and developing in the right direction.
“However, we recognise that a lot more still needs to be done in serving our students, supporting our colleagues, improving our quality and enhancing our systems,” Professor Kuo said.
News of the surge in the QS rankings follows the positive feedback from the University Grants Committee on CityU’s Academic Development Proposal earlier this year, the launch of CityU’s new Discovery-enriched Curriculum (DEC), and a record-breaking performance in the Fifth Matching Grant Scheme. The University is greatly encouraged by these achievements.
“We will continue to do our best to nurture the talents of the younger generation and promote knowledge innovation for the well-being of society,” Professor Kuo said.
