More than 50 students from Fudan and Tsinghua universities enhanced their understanding of Hong Kong as an international city at the 2007 PESI Student Leadership Forum which was co-organized by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) Postgraduate Association.

The mainland students stayed at CityU's student hostels during the 11-day trip, having more opportunities to interact with CityU students and to experience the University's learning environment.

Throughout their stay, the mainland students participated in various activities, including seminars on higher education in Hong Kong and visits to public and private organizations and other universities.

At the closing ceremony on 24 July, Professor David Tong Shuk-yin, Deputy President of CityU, said CityU had more than a decade of close exchanges and collaboration on research with Fudan and Tsinghua universities. He hoped the visit had helped the mainland students gain a better understanding of Hong Kong and that they would visit again in the future.

Professor Chen Limin, Vice-President of Fudan University, said the visit facilitated further exchanges between the three universities and students had learned a lot more about Hong Kong.

The Deputy Director of Student Affairs of Tsinghua University, Dr Shen Yue, said this event was a valuable opportunity for students to engage in in-depth discussions with academics and professionals, which would be useful in developing their leadership skills.

The 2007 PESI Student Leadership Forum for Fudan & Tsinghua Students, organized by Professional & Educational Services International (PESI) in conjunction with CityU Postgraduate Association and Hong Kong Professional & Educational Services, took place between 14 July and 24 July.
