CoolThink@JC is a computational thinking education initiative that strives to make a key contribution to the development of the community by engaging young people in a co-teaching paradigm to facilitate and expedite the introduction of computational thinking and programming skills to primary students in schools. CityUHK designs and runs workshops and activities on computational thinking and digital competency to engage parents and promote computational thinking education among parents as well as provides co-teaching support in target primary schools to facilitate effective learning in computational thinking in classrooms.

Following the successful implementation of the CoolThink@JC 4-year pilot program, the second phase of the CoolThink@JC was launched in 2020, with the aim of mainstreaming computational thinking education. CoolThink@JC is created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and co-created by City University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The project is overseen by the Office of the Vice-President (Community Engagement) and implemented by a team led by Professor Matthew Lee from the Department of Information Systems.
