Guo HONG

Prof. Guo Hong received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Peking University. He pursued his postdoctoral research at the City University of Hong Kong and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ). Before he joined the MSE faculty of City University of Hong Kong, he was an Assistant Professor at University of Macau. Prof. Hong’s research interest lies in energy storages and conversions, flexible devices, nanomaterials, and thermal managements. Besides academic experience, he has also worked with SAMSUNG and IBM.

Professor Alex Jen is the Lee Shau Kee Chair Professor of Materials Science and the Founding Director of the Hong Kong Institute for Clean Energy. He is also the Chair Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science of the CityU. During 2016-2020, he also served as the Provost of the University.

Biography

Prof. Jing Li received her Ph.D degree in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in 2018, after which she worked as a postdoc researcher in Department of Materials Science and Engineering at University of Pennsylvania. In 2021-2023, she was an Associate Professor in China-UK Low Carbon College at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Biography

Dr. Nan LI received her bachelor's degree from Jilin University and her doctorate degree from Tsinghua University. Throughout the course of her Ph.D. studies, she underwent joint training at the University of Washington. Following that, she conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Electronic Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prior to her current position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, she served as a Research Assistant Professor.

Bin LIU

Professor Bin Liu received his bachelor of engineering (1st Class Honours) and master of engineering degrees at the National University of Singapore, Singapore in 2002 and 2004, respectively, and completed his doctoral degree at the University of Minnesota, USA in 2011. After spending a year as postdoctoral fellow in the University of California Berkeley, USA, he joined School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University as an Assistant Professor in June 2012 and was promoted to Associate Professor in March 2017.

Andrey L ROGACH

Andrey L. Rogach is a Yeung Kin Man Chair Professor of Photonics Materials at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Founding Director of the Centre for Functional Photonics (CFP) at City University of Hong Kong. He received his Diploma in Chemistry (1991, with honors) and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (1995) from the Belarusian State University in Minsk studying formation and properties of silver nanoparticles in different media.
