The French press typically consists of a beaker and metal mesh filter, often with a shaft structure. It works by steeping hot water and coffee grounds using immersion brewing, which provides uniform extraction and makes coffee taste richer. However, users sometimes find it difficult to prevent over-extraction if the water is left too long before steeping, and to calculate an accurate coffee-to-water ratio according to their personal preference.
The intelligent On/Off Press is a new invention, which features a magnetic plunger that snaps and seals the bottom for well-controlled coffee brewing. The metal filter can be opened and closed with the on/off switch, which completely separates the water and coffee powder when steeping. The coffee stops brewing, and the user is reminded once the extraction is complete to ensure the best quality.
In addition, the Press connects to a mobile app with wireless Bluetooth streaming, allowing the customisation of coffee recipes for more personalised preferences, including cup size, coffee-to-water ratio and brew strength. Users can use the app to keep track of the real-time temperature, the weight of the coffee grounds and the water volume.
