ZHU Weizheng (1936-2012) graduated at Fudan University and stayed there as Professor of History, specializing in Chinese ancient history. He published monographs and many articles on Chinese cultural history, Chinese intellectual history, and Chinese Confucian studies. He was a famous historian on Chinese history of historiography, Chinese history of ideology and culture, Chinese academic history, Chinese modern history, and history of culture exchange between Chinese and western countries. He was awarded Honorary Doctorate of Hamburg University in 2006.
