Professor Alex Jen Kwan-yue, Provost and Chair Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science at City University of Hong Kong (CityU), has been elected Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) in recognition of his profound contributions to research on science and technology, in particular in the area of materials science.

Ten faculty members from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been named as Highly Cited Researchers for 2018 by Clarivate Analytics, reflecting the high academic standard of our faculty and our excellent research performance. The list recognises scientists and social scientists who have demonstrated substantial influence in their fields through publication of multiple highly cited papers ranked in the top 1% by citations between 2006 and 2016.

The content of the latest instalment of the President’s Lecture Series: Excellence in Academia at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) was made more significant by the release of the worrying report from the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
