Miss Dion Hui won HKIE Best Paper on Materials

Miss Dion Hui, a FYP student under the supervision of Prof. W. J. Zhang, won HKIE Best Paper on Materials 2014 (1st prize) . The title of her paper is “Nanostructured boron-doped diamond electrodes for wastewater treatment”. The best paper award was presented yearly by the HKIE Materials Division.

FYP student, CHAN Yau Kwan, won best paper prize

The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Materials Division recently announced the result of the Best Paper on Materials 2013. The student, CHAN Yau Kwan, won the 2nd prize. CHAN Yau Kwan’s work was concentrated on the mechanical properties of boron carbide coatings under the supervision of Prof. Zhang Wen Jun, Prof. Ludvik Martinu and Prof. Jolanta E. Klemberg-Sapieha.

Miss WONG Ho Yan (BEMATE) have won the Merit Prize of HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition Award in 2013

Miss WONG Ho Yan ‘s project entitled “Microwave Plasma-assisted Growth of 2D and 3D Graphene” (Supervisor: Prof. W.J. Zhang) has won the Merit Prize awarded by Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association Education Funding in 2013. The objective of this award is to recognize and reward students with outstanding final year projects which demonstrate excellence in technology and innovation.

Mr. Chundong Wang, a PhD student with Prof. W.J. Zhang received the Outstanding Research Thesis Award

Prof. W.J. Zhang’s Ph.D. student Chundong Wang received the Outstanding Research Thesis Award (among a total of 7 in 2013) from CityU. The title of his thesis is “Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition of Graphene: Synthesis and Energy Storage Applications”.
