Biography

Prof. Wu started working in City Polytechnic of Hong Kong in 1987, before it became City University of Hong Kong.  He worked in departments of Mathematics and Science, Mathematics, Applied Science, Physics and Materials Science, and Materials Science and Engineering, before retiring in 2024.  His research interests were in composite materials, electronic packaging and materials, dye sensitive solar cells, applied optics, shearography, bio-chemical plasmonic sensing.  He also worked on computational materials science, in the deformation of electronic interconnections, molecular mechanics, molecular dynamics and density function theory studies on composites, energy, environmental, catalytic, and bio-chemical sensing applications.  His specialized teaching areas were in electronic packaging and materials, engineering failure analysis, and forensic engineering.
