香港城市大學於8月24日至26日參加由北京市教育委員會及國家留學基金管理委員會聯合主辦的「北京國際教育博覽會2004」，成功地把城大推向內地，讓更多海內外院校和機構加深對城大的了解。

2004年元月5日，城大法律學院的學生與世界各地的28個隊伍一起獲選參加4月10日至17日於法國舉辦的瓊?皮克泰特競賽的英語賽場比賽。今年申請參賽的隊伍有79個。城大參賽小組是第一個參加該競賽的中國小組，成員包括法律學榮譽學士學生Beverly Koo, Yvonne Pang和Nicky Sai Hang Tse。
3月29日，北京WTO事務中心的五人代表團到訪城大世界貿易組織法與爭端解決中心（WTODR中心），探討雙邊合作的可能性。商談催生了不少合作意念和可行方案，最後，到訪者都感到「滿載而歸」。
Ms Amina Mohamed, Ambassador of Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva, visited CityU's WTO Law and Dispute Resolution Centre on 24 March, to meet with SLW (Chair) Professor Peter Malanczuk. SLW Lecturer Dr Zhao Yun and several LLM students were also present.
