The annual finale concert, CityU Christmas Concert 2023 , was successfully held on 21 December 2023!
The concert invited the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Harmonica Orchestra, one of the oldest symphonic harmonica orchestras in Hong Kong, as our special guest. Accompanied by our three student performing groups - CityU Chinese Orchestra, CityU Choir, and CityU Philharmonic Orchestra, over 150 CityU performers presented joyful music on stage. The cold weather did not stop the audience's enthusiasm, with full-house audiences celebrating the Christmas joy at CityU together!
The four groups took turns to present an array of festive music, including "Oratorio de No?l, op. 12", "Libertango", and "Waltz", etc. The performance of "Selections from The Phantom of the Opera" by the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong Harmonica Orchestra amazed the audience in particular!
Towards the end of the concert, CityU Philharmonic Orchestra and City Choir jointly presented "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" and invited the audience to sing along, wrapping up this unforgettable evening!
