After winning the championship in SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest, Mr. Zhu Yihao, Martin (PhD student), Mr. Lin Kaixin, Johnny (PhD student), Miss Shirley Du (PhD student) and Dr. Lee Hau Him, William (Postdoc) then proceeded to take part in the global finals of the same competition as Hong Kong SAR representatives. Under the supervision of Dr. Edwin Tso, the team won the runner-up in the competition.

The team successfully outcompeted a number of teams from Malaysia, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Japan, and Greece, etc., with the award-winning project “A Novel Energy Free and Environmentally Friendly Cooling Paint for Building Applications”. Equipped with the research support from the School of Energy and Environment, the team demonstrated an excellent case of knowledge transfer and attracted interest from different parties all over the world.
