Second Runner-up in 6th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
Mr. Cheung Ho Lam and Miss Lai Pui Ka, final-year undergraduate students majoring in Energy Science and Engineering, recently participated as a group and obtained the second runner-up in the 6th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (under the Entrepreneurship sector). Under the supervision of Dr. Edwin Tso and Dr. Shauhrat Chopra, the group proposed an innovative project known as "AquaBox" to sell water at hiking trails, reduce plastic waste and prevent hikers from getting a heat stroke. The rationale behind is related to harvesting water from air with the technology, namely, passive radiative cooling that would not consume any electricity.
