Prof. Zheng’s research group is interested in genomic medicine and biotechnology innovation to advance the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases. He previously invented the AMP technology, which was initially implemented in top U.S. hospitals and has since been adopted globally in molecular diagnostic tests for targeted cancer therapies. In the new SMRF project, the research team aims to detect cancer early, preceding conventional clinical diagnoses that are often too late. This project will investigate “liquid biopsy” through innovative molecular technology and advanced epidemiological design nested within a longitudinal population cohort.
